Black Rainbow is a national Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual,
Transgender, Intersex, Queer, Sistergirl and Brotherboy (LGBQTI+SB) organisation in the
pursuit of positive health and wellbeing for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Lesbian
LGBQTI+SB*. Originally focusing on suicide prevention, the diversity of our leadership group
has allowed us to expand our horizons.
We currently support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander LGBQTI+SB people through a
variety of community projects and initiatives that we have, and continue, to develop. We
call these initiatives Contagion of Love projects.
Through our grassroots and diverse approaches, we strive to alleviate the health and
wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander LGBQTI+SB people. We have several new
and exciting community initiatives that will be launched in November 2020.
We are a non-profit that is 100% Indigenous owned and operated. Black Rainbow is
premised by advocacy, leadership, and solutions which identify and address social and
cultural determinants of wellbeing as they relate to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander
Australians whom identify as LGBTIQ+SB.
We are in the process finalising our board and are in the process of finalising the paperwork
apply for DGR status and to registered with the ACNC.
One of the pillars of Black Rainbow is the philosophy of value-based economics and as such
a synergy of values with our partners is fundamental to our success. To partner with us please reach out using our contact page.
