PRE-PAID PHONE & DATA CREDIT
Through the generosity of every day Australians we are able to provide pre-paid phone and data credit to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander LGBQTI people who may be homeless, leaving a domestic violence relationship or the justice system.
This initiative allows for individuals to stay connected with family, friends, and with services that they may need access to.
To access this initiative please contact us via this link.
Homelessness, domestic violence, and involvement with the justice system are just three area Black Rainbow hope to engage with in the future. To date, Indigenous LGBQTI people have not been identified as a key target group for policy and practice intervention and we hope to further our work in this space by undertaking a national wide research project to inform future directions across these sectors.
If you wish to donate to Black Rainbow you can here.

Amplifying Voices, Increasing Visibility Initiative

In partnership with IndigenousX, an Indigenous online media platform, Black Rainbow are pleased to announce our Amplifying voices, Increasing visibility initiative. If you are Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, queer, trans* or intersex (LGBQTI), including Sistergirl or Brotherboy, or simply diverse in your sexuality and gender identity and have something you want to write about, and get paid for it, please use the contact form below and pitch your story for consideration.
Payment is $150 per published content.
You can write about anything you like, you just have to be Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and identify as LGBQTI including Sistergirl or Brotherboy, or simply diverse in your sexuality and gender identity.
You can write on Design, Technology, Law, Health, Land rights, Treaty, Allied health, Tourism, Constitutional reform, or your own personal story. It can be anything you want.
The monies used to pay for your writing comes from our pool of donations. This initiative is part of our social enterprise model where we pay Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and identify as LGBQTI mob, including Sistergirls and Brotherboys, or those simply diverse in their sexuality and gender identity for their contributions as well as use our platforms to amplify your voices and views.
Black Rainbow acknowledges the traditional people of the lands of this country.
We recognise our continuing connection to the land and water and we pay our respects to our Ancestors and the Elders, past, present and future whose strength and guidance continually nurture us. We pay tribute to and honour the lives of all Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander lesbian, gay, bisexual, queer, trans*, intersex people that have paved the way before us.
We also like to make special mention to the place young people have, not just in our future but in the directions our future will take. Whether you are lesbian, gay, bisexual, queer, trans*, intersex or not. You are our future, and here at Black Rainbow, we believe in you.
